3/13 Rehearsal Review
The Bayonne Youth Orchestra and Band both had excellent rehearsals on Wednesday evening (3/13). The band is ready to perform The Climb Over Horizon by Joshua A. Idio and is almost ready with Colliding Visions by Brian Balmages. The string orchestra is doing an amazing job with Tyler Arcari’s Abstraction, and they’re also working on a movement from Mark Taylor’s Giant Suit titled T-Rex.
Unfortunately, we were missing 12 students from this rehearsal. We’re asking that everyone please do their best to attend the next two Wednesday evenings as they’ll be preparing us to perform at Band Day on April 9th at Bayonne High School.
Next Week – Wednesday 3/20/24
Next week, on Wednesday 3/20, we will be holding sectionals. Our focus will be on mastering the dynamics and expressive elements on The Climb Over Horizon (band) and Abstraction (strings), and working out a few sections of Colliding Visions (band) and T-Rex (strings). These are the four pieces we will be performing on April 9th!
PLEASE check the schedule on our online calendar – it has all the reporting times for each section.
A Few Corrections and Schedule Changes
Correction: Unfortunately the concert date for 5/16 will not work due to staff scheduling issues. We sincerely apologize for releasing this date before checking with all staff and for the delay in getting a date. We are working on another date and should have one by the end of the week, but we are at the mercy of our admin team. As soon as they get back to us with a date that works we will relay the information to you!
Rehearsal/Schedule Change: the week after spring break (the beginning on Monday, April 8th) we WERE scheduled to rehearse that Wednesday, however, due to the Tuesday April 9th performance at BHS, we will rehearse on MONDAY, April 8th at MCS in preparation for the Tuesday performance.
